How Aripiprazole Works
Aripiprazole is the active chemical ingredient in Abilify and the generic. It is an antipsychotic drug that works by restoring the balance of the natural chemicals in the brain (neurotransmitters). Aripiprazole Possible side effects
Although proven to be very effective, as with all medications Abilify does have possible side effects. The most common and less severe side effects of Abilify and Aripiprazole are akathisis, anxiety, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, bowel complications, constipation and insomnia.
