The AeroChamber is designed to help those patients who have a difficult time using a Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI) device. The AeroChamber helps patients achieve the desired effect of their medication without having to worry about whether or not they have used their inhaler properly.
AeroChamber Plus VHC utilizes a 149-ml. chamber that is made from a unique, flexible, shatter resistant polymer blend, which improves aerodynamics and facilitates particle size selectivity to ensure the maximum fine particle dose. AeroChamber Plus significantly reduces the amount of coarse particles that are more likely to deposit in the upper respiratory tract.
AeroChamber with Infant Mask, Child Mask or Adult Mask
The AeroChamber Plus Valved Holding Chamber with Small or Medium ComfortSeal mask and colored exhalation valve is specifically designed to meet the needs of low tidal volume patients. Each product feature has been incorporated to ensure maximum aerosol performance while encouraging compliance.
AeroChamber Plus VHC's robust colored exhalation valve system is built into the mask and ensures low resistance to airflow. Exhalation is directed away from the patient's eyes for increased delivery safety. Certain formulations might cause unwanted ocular side effects if there is contact with the aerosolized medication.
AeroChamber Plus VHC's colored exhalation valves are clearly visible to provide feedback to the caregiver on proper functioning.
How to use a Metered-Dose Inhaler with AeroChamber:
To use this type of spacer, you must be able to inhale through the mouth at the right time. Usually this is someone over 6 years of age who is able to follow instructions with demonstration. If your child is unable to use a mouthpiece see below for MDI with mask.
1.Remove the plastic protective cap from the MDI and from the spacer.
2.Insert the MDI of medicine into the plastic holder on the rubber end of the AeroChamber®.
3.Shake the AeroChamber® and MDI.
4.Have your child breathe out as much of his/her air as he/she can.
5.Have your child place the spacer mouthpiece into his/her mouth, gripping it gently with lips and teeth.
6.Spray one puff from the metered-dose inhaler into the AeroChamber®.
7.Have your child breathe in slowly and deeply. If you hear a whistle, then have your child breathe in slower.
8.Have your child hold his/her breath, and count to 10.
9.Take the mouthpiece out of your child's mouth and have your child gently breathe out through pursed lips (similar to blowing out a candle).
10.Rest and repeat according to the doctor's directions.
11. At least once a week, take the AeroChamber® end off and rinse it with warm tap water.

2.Insert the MDI of medicine into the plastic holder on the rubber end of the AeroChamber®.
3.Shake the AeroChamber® and MDI.
4. Sit the child on your lap. The back of your child's head should be against your chest.
5. Apply the mask to your child's face so that the nose and mouth are covered.
6.Spray one puff from the metered-dose inhaler into the AeroChamber®.
7 Keep the mask in place for 6 - 8 breaths. Have your child breathe through his/her mouth, if possible. You can have your child imitate you as you deep breathe through your mouth. Watch the child's chest to count breaths.
8.Have your child hold his/her breath, and count to 10.
9.Rest and repeat according to the doctor's directions.
