How Aldactazide Works
Aldactazide (hydrochlorothiazide and spironolactone) is a thiazide diuretic; this basically means that it is a form of water pill. It will help prevent your body from absorbing to much salt from the food in which you eat during meal times throughout the day. The active ingredient Spironolactone is a potassium sparing diuretic which will also help your body to not absorb dangerous amounts of salt, and it is also good for ensuring that the bodies potassium levels do not exceed a safe level.
Generic Spironolactone/HCTZ vs Brand Aldactazide
The brand and the generic aldactazide is chemically and therapeutically the same. The only difference is the manufacturer. We currently have the brand from Canada manufactured by Pfizer and the generic is from Canada as well manufactured by a different manufacturer. It may come from other countries around the world.
Aldactazide Guidelines
Before taking this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to either spironolactone or hydrochlorothiazide; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.

There are other medications, which when they are mixed with Aldactazide, they may cause a side effect or reaction within your body. Medications such as lithium and digoxin are medications which are known to bring on the symptoms of certain side effects.
As with all medications, there may be a chance that you experience some side effects. These side effects are very rare, and it is not a regular occurrence for them to have been reported whilst a person is this medication. It is however important that you recognize the signs and the symptoms of a side effect and also you should be aware of an allergic reaction once you have taken this medication.
