Amerge (Naratriptan) is used to treat migraine attacks with or without warning signs that occur prior to the onset of a migraine. It works by narrowing blood vessels in the head that causes migraines. For most people, naratriptan eliminates or reduces the symptoms of migraine including headache, nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound. Your doctor may have prescribed this medication for other reasons that are not listed.

The brand and the generic naratriptan is chemically and therapeutically the same. The only difference is the manufacturer.
