How Roflumilast Works

Roflumilast is the active ingredient in Daliresp which is a prescription medicine used in adults with severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) to decrease the number of flare-ups or the worsening of COPD symptoms (exacerbations). Roflumilast is used to control and prevent symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath caused by ongoing lung disease (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease-COPD which includes bronchitis). It works by reducing the irritation and swelling of the airways. It should be used along with other medications (bronchodilators such as salmeterol, ipratropium) to treat COPD. Daliresp is not a bronchodilator. It does not work right away and should not be used for treating sudden breathing problems. Your healthcare provider may give you other medicine to use for sudden breathing problems. It is not known if Daliresp is safe and effective in children.

Generic Daliresp vs Brand Daliresp

Brand and generic Daliresp are available with a doctor’s prescription. It is entirely your choice whether you want a brand or generic. The chemical Roflumilasst was first developed by the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca markets it as Daliresp in North America. Brand Daliresp and generic Roflumilast are identical in dose, strength, safety, efficacy and its intended use. The biggest difference is that the generic is not manufactured inside an AstraZeneca facility. Rest assured that Blueskydrugs.com only provides you with highest quality generic drugs from reputable generic manufacturers. If you have any concerns, feel free to contact us.
