How Dexlansoprazole Works
Dexlansoprazole is the active ingredient in Dexilant, and is a medication used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), including heart burn and esophageal ulcers. Dexlansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor. It works by blocking the action of pumps in your stomach that produce acid. By decreasing the amount of acid produced by the stomach, Dexlansoprazole can reduce many symptoms of GERD. Dexlansoprazole is also a dual delayed release pill that combines two different types of granules in one pill. Dexlansoprazole delivers the first release of medication within an hour of taking your pill. Then, around 4-5 hours later, a second release of medication happens, which allows this medication to provide relief for up to 24 hours. Dexlansoprazole is not approved for use by anyone younger than 12 years old.
Generic Dexilant vs Brand Dexilant
Brand and generic Dexilant both require a doctor’s prescription. It is entirely up to you whether you choose the brand or the generic form. The chemical Dexlansoprazole was first developed by Takeda, and is marketed by Takeda as Dexilant in North America. Brand and generic are identical in dose, strength, safety, efficacy and its intended use. The biggest difference is that the generic is not manufactured inside a Takeda facility. Please be assured that Blueskydrugs.com only provides you with highest quality generic drugs from reputable generic manufacturers. If you have any concerns about this, feel free to contact us.
