How Timolol Maleate/Bimatoprost Works?
Ganfort Eye Drops (Timolol Maleate/Bimatoprost) is a prescription eye drop used to reduce the pressure in the eye and to treat open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension in adults who do not respond well to eye drops containing beta-blockers or prostaglandin analogues. Ganfort eye drops are a combination of Timolol Maleate and Bimatoprost. Timolol Maleate belongs to the class of drugs called beta-blockers and works by decreasing the amount of fluid within the eye. Bimatoprost belongs to the class of medications called prostaglandin analogs and it works by lowering pressure in the eye by increasing the flow of natural fluids out of the eye. This medication lowers the pressure in the eye by decreasing the fluid produced and helping the flow of fluid out of the eye chamber. Ganfort eye drops will help your condition but it does not cure it.
