How Hygroton Works
Hygroton (Chlorthalidone) is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention. Hygroton treats fluid retention (edema) in people with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, or kidney disorders, or edema that is caused by taking steroids or estrogen. Hygroton is also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Hygroton prevents reabsorption of sodium by blocking certain receptors in the kidneys. Reduction of sodium reabsorption leads to increase of sodium output by the kidneys, lowering levels of salt in the blood.
Generic Chlorthalidone vs Brand Hygroton
Brand and generic Hygroton are available with a doctor’s prescription. It is entirely your choice whether you want a brand or generic. The chemical Chlorthalidone was first developed by Takeda and the pharmaceutical company Novartis markets it as Hygroton in North America. Brand Hygroton and generic Chlorthalidone are identical in dose, strength, safety, efficacy and its intended use. The biggest difference is that the generic is not manufactured inside a Novartis facility. Rest assured that Blueskydrugs.com only provides you with highest quality generic drugs from reputable generic manufacturers. If you have any concerns, feel free to contact us.
