How Beclomethasone Dipropionate Works?
Beclomethasone Dipropionate is the active ingredient in QVAR Redihaler; it is used to prevent and control the symptoms of asthma attacks (wheezing and shortness of breath) in adults and children who are at least 5 years old. QVAR Redihaler will not treat an asthma attack that has already begun. This medication belongs to the class of drugs known as corticosteroids. It works directly in the lungs to make breathing easier by reducing the irritation and swelling of the airways. QVAR Redihaler must be used regularly to prevent breathing problems. This medication does not work right away and should not be used to relieve an asthma attack. If you have an asthma attack, use your quick-relief inhaler such as
albuterol and
Proair HFA.

Beclomethasone may mask signs of infection. It can make more likely to get infections or worsen any current infections. You should avoid contact with people who have infections that may spread to others such as chickenpox, flu or measles. QVAR should not be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. It is unknown if this medications passes into breast milk, talk to your doctor before breast-feeding. There may a drug interaction with Beclomethasone Dipropionate and other medications such as aldesleukin and mifepristone.
