How Alfuzosin Works
Alfuzosin is the active medicinal ingredient found in Uroxatral HCl used to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate. Alfuzosin works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and opening the bladder thus improving urine flow which is one major symptom of an enlarged prostate. It is important to understand that Alfuzosin does not stop or cure an enlarged prostate, it merely treats the symptoms. The usual daily dose is 10mg daily after a meal, the pill is to be swallowed whole and never split or crushed. Your doctor may have prescribed this medication for reasons other than those listed; therefore it is important to take Alfuzosin exactly as prescribed.

Brand Uroxatral is manufactured by Sanofi Aventis and is marketed under Xatral around the world.
